I figured it was time to get a post up here with a photo in it, since this is a photo blog.
After many years away (nearly 30) I finally made it back to the California coast. After having an adventure on Route 199 coming over the pass from Oregon, this is the first thing I saw then I ventured to the beach. I still don't have a GPS for the camera, but I'm pretty certain this is the northern end of Crescent City. I spent two days or so there exploring the late winter light with my brand new D2x. I actually picked that camera up on the way to the airport for this trip.

Part of my motivation is also revisiting older images with new processing knowledge/technology. And the pastel blues really grabbed my attention. From 2005:
